Good Evening,

I am testing the app with a free welcome subscription - "ultimate" type.
I really like this program in general, but I am quite perplexed about the apparently low detail level of the map I downloaded (Italy - 19.4 MB - HD , with all the content filter already checked).
I played a little with the app options in order to make sure it wasn't just a setting issue...and I tried to deactivate the map in "manage user maps", just to see what happens. I was surprised to notice that the "on-line" map detail level is now really fine (mapnik openstreetmap?).

Question: is this one the real detail of the dowloaded hd maps after a valid subscription?
I would like to know if the low resolution will improve after the subscription, or I am already testing the final result?

(I tried to attach a screenshot for each map type, but probably I managed only with one)

Thank you
Davide

Hi Dave,

bear in mind that our vector maps are tailored for flying, and you can trust me that they are fit for this purpose in most situation (there will always be an outlier place that is missing a small village or a river).

In you screen shots, your device displays more or less 2km ahead of the plane... Event in a slow plane that is 30 seconds of flight.
Who would want that in flight?

From my personal experience and from pilots around me, you'd want to see at least 5 minutes ahead of the plane position and in such zoom levels, you'll see that the level of details is more than adequate.

This stated, you can zoom in more onto an airfield. Try that for a good surprise ;).

I recommend that you experiment in flight and make an opinion based on this.

Let's keep in mind that Flight Assistant is meant to help you flying, not mountain biking or hiking ;).
