missing some UL airfileds

Post by sket » 14 May 2016, 22:27

Hello! First af all many congratulations to the developers. This is a really great app!

Unfortunately I've an issue, some ultralight airfileds are missing.
I'm italian and there aren't some airfields near me, I read FA use the openaip datas, so I check their database and in this database there are those airfields!
Here's some screenshot to explain the situation.
- FA in my phone with online-map, in the online-map there are those airfield but not reported in FA:

- Screenshot of the openaip map related at the same area:

Please, how I can add those airfield? Someone can explain me, I would add in openaip, but already there are them.
Other thing, the UL airfields have a different codename from the one we use. Is it possible to change? I can do in openaip?

Goodbye!

Hello Sket,

OurAirports and OpenAIP are open and communal data websites.

You can create an account to edit or add data. ;)

yes, it was exactly what I wanted to do.
But, perhaps I did not explain, I checked the OpenAIP database (I also added the map) and there are these airfields!
So, why in FA there are not some airfields that they are in OpenAIP?

IIRC, it takes FA some time before getting the last data from the databases, JC explained it when he switched to this solution.

Don't forget to check also OurAirports, and to check "ultralight fields" in the data you want to receive, when you update your AIRAC. ;)

Mmmmhhh.

The issue is that I am not fully sure we are pulling non ICAO airfields from OpenAIP...
I have not had time to check thi.

Sorry,

Hi Jean-Michel,

After the last post, they appeared in FA1.

But, now with the upgrade to FA2, I can't see anymore those UL italian airfields! And even in FA1!!!

Hi Sket,

1) FA1 is not maintained anymore. It has been removed from the Play Store and servers generating aero data have been decomissioned...
I recommend not using it. It is not safe (as it will miss all aero data).

2) re FAv2, it depends if you are using a subscription.
With the Free version, only airports will show.
As soon as you have at least a bBasic subscription, you will get comprehensive aero data (incl. AVIOPortolano DB for Italy).

To put things in perspective, that starts at 2€ / month (not going to ask you the avg prive of one hour of flight ;) )...

Checkout the various subscriptions here : https://www.flightassistant.aero/pricing/

understand perfectly, but my needs is to have offline map with some local airfields, I don't use all the features of FA.
